I know I’m not the only one that needed the reminder recently that it’s ok to let that “comfort thing” go now.
I’m holding your hand, don’t worry!
You might have hyper fixated on something to please your inner child, to heal a part of you and spark your creativity, your joy again. Be it a game, TV show, book – an activity or hobby that became part of your routine in a good way.
Thing is, it served its purpose. It did make your inner child happy. It did give you something creative and fun and fulfilling to do. It did heal and help you.
Now you might find that same thing is becoming more of a chore or just another thing in yout to-do list. A running streak that you have to keep. Something familiar in your routine that you can control. Something you do because there’s a bond to something else.
You know deep down it’s not bringing you the same thing it was when you first started but you don’t quite realise that it’s keeping you a part of you stuck.
You can release it.
Let it make room for something else, something new. Yes, that might be another hyper fixation but it will serve a purpose for a time until you can let that go too..
When I let it go, it freed my creativity again. The ideas started flowing, I started flowing again.
You can free yourself from that which holds you down, especially those things you put in place yourself.
Let it go and let yourself move forward.
